Raising money for a Special Needs bus. Congratulations to Matt Lucas the Winner of our $300 Gift Certificate.  
A Murray & Sons contributed the $300 Gift Certificate to Gadara School P & C Charity Ball for auction at their recent Charity Auction. Gadara is a special needs school in Tumut. The Charity Ball was held to raise funds because the school needs a new school bus for their kids.
Matt can use the certificate on plumbing supplies or to have work completed by our experienced staff.

COOLAH MPS Completed

Coolah MPS completed—hydraulics for the Multi Purpose Service, undertaken by A Murray & Sons—Commercial Division
 
The redevelopment contract was announced in November 2016. The build was awarded to Zauner Construction to carry out the main works construction. Hydraulics contract for Coolah MPS was awarded to A Murray & Sons, commercial plumbers by Zauners Construction.
 
Construction activities have been focusing on the two new Residential Aged Care wings. One extending to the east and south of the existing acute and Residential Aged Care sections.

The scope of the redevelopment was been expanded to include the refurbishment of the existing building to incorporate a new GP clinic. It will include two rooms and a treatment room, enabling the current GP services to be increased and the option of a GP registrar to work out of the MPS. The new GP clinic will be located at the front of the existing MPS.

Coolah’s nearest neighbouring health care service is in Dunedoo, over 45 kilometres away; with the closest major regional centre of Dubbo 135km away.

Southern Highlands Police Station

A Murray & Sons was contracted by Lahey Constructions to complete the hydraulics in the state-of-the-art police station at Moss Vale. The building was completed mid year.

Superintendent Rowan described the new building as offering “the best you can get in technology at this point in time.” He said ultimately 65 police officers from various units would operate out of the new Moss Vale premises and this would include officers from various sections of the force such as uniformed police, crime prevention officers, highway patrol, education officers, proactive crime teams and detectives.

REDEVELOPMENT: Inverell Hospital

Richard Crookes Constructions secured the tender for the $30 million first stage. A Murray and Sons in Tumut have been awarded the tender by Richard Crookes for the hydraulics on the project. A Murray have in the past worked on Narrabri Hospital and Tamworth hospital redevelopments.

Pictured is the early stage of the development. With demolition starting in a few weeks, Richard Crookes Constructions have already begun contacting demolition and the early works trades.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brian Murray, son of Abe (founder of A Murray and Sons) father to Dwayne Murray, brother and business partner to Rex, uncle to Scott and Mathew Murray the current Directors of the company along with Dwayne.

UNDER CONSTRUCTION: Barham

The hydraulic services  for Barham Multi-purpose Hospital Service Construction was awarded to A Murray and Sons by Cockram Constructions with work scheduled to be completed in early 2020.

“The redevelopment of the Barham Multi-purpose Hospital Service is an important achievement for Barham and the surrounding communities,” Murrumbidgee Local Health District chief executive, Jill Ludford said.

“The purpose-built health service will work in collaboration with Murray Haven Homes, an established Barham aged care provider to provide holistic care to this community.”

The new facility will incorporate:

• 24-hour care;

• Inpatient service – six beds including palliative care;

• Emergency services – two resuscitation/holding bays;

• Triage room;

• Interview room;

• Treatment/consult room;

• X-ray facilities;

• Community Health services – four consult rooms and one interview room;

• Community programs – meeting/activity room;

• Staff accommodation – three beds; and

• NSW Ambulance – access for two vehicles.

UNDER CONSTRUCTION: Kiama

KIAMA Aged Care Development

“Since construction started in February, there were 27 different types of specialists working on this project. They include the people operating the earthmoving equipment to the civil and structural engineers, A Murray and Sons plumbers and the various specialist consultants focussing on landscaping, bushfire risk, heritage management and interior design.

The Blue Haven Bonaira aged care centre is being called the future of aged care and retirement living in Australia.

“People are looking for a place to live where they know they can age in place, and it’s very important that people who go into the independent living units know there’s help if they need it, they can press a button and there’s staff in the nursing home who can cater to their needs.

“As their needs become greater, they can move from independent living into the nursing home.”

UNDER CONSTRUCTION: Gerringong

The hydraulics of the Uniting Mayflower Gerringong Independent Living project have been awarded to A Murray and Son by Richard Crooks constructions. The overall project value is $25 million has been awarded to Richard Crookes Constructions, and is due for completion late 2018.
The project comprises demolition, services diversions, construction of a new RACF with back of house services, administration areas, Chapel, Wellness Centre, hair salon & café, and landscaping.
